At Chigiri, the starting point is a frank description of your situation: what the applicable rules are, what your options look like, and what each of them is likely to involve.
This practice covers civil disputes, commercial arrangements and property transactions. Work is carried out in English and Japanese. The aim is to give you enough to decide — not to create dependency on ongoing advice.

Every instruction is followed by a plain written account of what was found, decided or recommended, so the record is yours to keep.

Estimates of how long each matter is likely to take are given at the outset, and updated if circumstances change.

Work is carried out in English or Japanese depending on preference. Documents can be prepared in either language.
Process
From first contact to conclusion
Initial contact
Describe your situation briefly by email or phone. A consultation will be scheduled within a few days.
First meeting
One hour, in person or by video. Your position is assessed and options are explained before any commitment is made.
Scope agreed
If work is to proceed, the scope, fee and expected timeline are confirmed in writing before anything begins.
Completion
The matter is concluded and a written summary provided. Further questions arising from the work can be directed by email.

Duration
One hour, in person at the Akasaka office or by video. The fee is ¥14,000 regardless of how the meeting is conducted or what language is used.

You will have a clear account of how the law applies to your situation, what the options are, and a written summary sent afterwards. No obligation to proceed further.
